Sarah Gierhan is dedicated to improving the mental health of her patients with a compassionate and patient-centered approach. She strives to create a supportive and understanding environment. Her goal is to help individuals manage their mental health challenges and enhance their overall quality of life. She enjoys treating patients of all ages and can see patients ages 3 and up.

Sarah received a BS in Business Administration from Nebraska Wesleyan University, a BS in Nursing from UNMC, a master’s of Family Nurse Practitioner from Clarkson College and a post master’s certificate in psychiatry from Maryville University. Sarah is a board certified family nurse practitioner through AANP and a board certified psychiatric mental health practitioner through AANC.

Sarah is a Kearney native. She is married and has three children. In her time off she likes spending time with her family, baking, and traveling.

Jessica Gregg

Jessica Gregg is passionate about promoting mental health in her patients to improve their quality of life. She strives to create a welcoming, compassionate and supportive environment. Her goal is to help individuals manage their mental health challenges, understand their mental health disorder and enhance their overall quality of life. She has a special interest in depression, anxiety, ADHD and substance abuse. She can treat patients of all ages.

Jessica received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bryan College of Health Sciences, a master’s of Science with Adult acute gerontology Nurse Practitioner from Creighton University and a post-master’s certificate in mental health from Maryville University. Jessica is board-certified with her AGACNP and PMHNP through ANCC.

Jessica was born and raised in Juniata, Nebraska. She is married and has 3 children. In her spare time, she and her family enjoy being outside, backpacking, spending weekends at the lake and spending time in the mountains.

Rene Sykes

APRN, PMHNP-C

Rene Sykes is an advocate for individuals with social, emotional, and mental health needs. She aims to understand the perspectives and needs of individuals while working with them to identify realistic solutions. She presents a common-sense, problem-solving approach and desires to work alongside individuals to meet their current mental health needs.

Rene has 30 years of experience in nursing, in oncology, inpatient behavioral health and a variety of other areas. With a bachelor's in nursing from UNMC Lincoln, Rene recently received her PMHNP from Purdue Global University.

Born and raised in Nebraska, Rene has lived all over the state. She is married and has two young adult sons, and a cat named Moof. She enjoys reading, photography, tending her flowers and plants, and occasionally getting out in the kayak.

Holly Schmidt

Holly Schmidt, LIMHP, is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner with over 11 years of experience working with individuals of all ages. She specializes in trauma-focused therapy using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and somatic approaches, guiding clients through healing with compassion and clinical guidance. Holly also incorporates a variety of evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and solution-focused strategies to support each client’s unique goals.

A graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a Master’s in Community Counseling, Holly is deeply committed to creating a safe, empowering, and collaborative environment. Her goal is for her clients to experience significant improvements in emotional resilience, personal growth, and overall well-being through therapy.

At Serene Mental Health, Holly believes in the power of connection and provides a supportive space where healing begins and lasting change is possible. Holly was born and raised in Nebraska. She is married and has two adult daughters. In her spare time she enjoys traveling and spending time with her friends and family.

Sarah Rolfsmeyer is dedicated to supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges with a compassionate, trauma-informed, and client-centered approach. She strives to create a safe and welcoming environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered in their healing journey.

Her focus is on building resilience, restoring hope, and helping individuals achieve lasting growth. Sarah specializes in trauma, family dynamics, rural mental health, and adolescent issues. She provides therapy for individuals of all ages and is trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). Sarah is also passionate about bridging the gap between mental health and agriculture and works to increase awareness and access to care in rural communities.

Originally from Shelton, Nebraska, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, showing livestock, and supporting rural life. She is deeply committed to making mental health care accessible, relatable, and effective for all—especially those in underserved rural areas.

Clint Malcom

Clint retired on April 15, 2025, after dedicating more than 20 years to providing exceptional mental health care in our community. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for his compassionate service and unwavering commitment to his patients' well-being. His patients are being transitioned to our current providers to ensure continuity of care.
